I decided to try out photogrammetry today, as it seems to be becoming a big thing in creating textures of realistic environments. After watching a number of videos I decided to use a raw piece of jade as the model. Having only used 35 photos taken on my phone, I was really impressed with the results I was able to get with Meshroom. After using this, I then attempted to turn it into something that could be used in game engine. I created a low poly mesh using 3DCoat and brought it back into Maya to attempt to bake on the details and texture map. This was actually my first time using Maya to bake and so the results could definately be improved upon. Overall I can definately see how useful this method can be!
