Over the past 6 months I have been working on this project as the main artist at Vstars LTD, for the VR game Bubble Boogie. This is a dance rhythm game set in a 70s esque disco/nightclub environment, taking most of its design inspiration from Studio 54 Nightclub. This has been an incredible experience as my first time working in the industry. I’ve learnt so much and got to experience more than just the art (the testing and marketing side of indie games too). It was great getting to work with a close-knit team and learn more about the importance of optimization, trying to find ways to lower model poly count, while still looking good. Not to mention the game is really fun too!
The above renders are recreation scenes from the game, only using the art I have made myself for it, as to not take credit for anyone else on the teams work. I also had the honour of modelling the games mascot/dance instructor (his colour scheme was later edited for easier viewing).
The game is now out and available on SideQuest and App Lab! Feel free to check it out :) https://sidequestvr.com/app/4132/bubble-boogie
